The SUGAR Expo happens every year, to celebrate our students' creative work in design research, design practice, engineering, business, and manufacturing.
Sugar is a global network that brings together multidisciplinary students from different universities and challenges them to solve real world product development challenges.
This EXPO was an unique once-a-year opportunity to meet with students, faculty, and industry colleagues from top universities around the world. An opportunity to take a sneak peek at the future of innovation driven by the young minds.
This year it happened at Broadway Studios in San Francisco, on July 6th 2018 - a melting pot of industry representatives, faculty and students will exchange views on what's coming next.
All teams began their projects at Stanford University, where they participated in design thinking workshops and experience the entrepreneurial culture of Silicon Valley.
And, at the end of this academic year, in San Francisco, our ME310 Porto students gathered with students from 22 Universities spread around the world, and presented the work they’ve developed together with companies, where all student teams tackle real world problems. This provides students with a great learning opportunity and corporate partners with fresh ideas.
For the duration of each ME310 project, every team collaborates with another team from a foreign university. This partnership adds diversity to the project teams, and students are given the opportunity to experience true global collaboration.
This year Porto Design Factory ME310 Academic Partners were:
Warsaw University of Technology; Kyoto Institute of Technology; Aalto University; Trinity College Dublin; University of Saint Gallen; Swinburne University of Technology
And this years’ ME 310 Porto Design Factory corporate partners are:
GENERALI
