Following a strategic plan of research development, supported by regional funds, PORTIC is looking for 2 full-time research scientists (PhD Auxiliar Researchers), in the area of Health Technologies. The selected researchers will contribute and drive research within a broad strategic plan including, but not restricted to, topics of:
Reference PORTIC-03-2020: i) digital health and telehealth, ii) medical data interoperability, iii) IoT for healthcare, iv) smart devices, v) sensors.
Reference PORTIC-04-2020: i) smart devices, ii) sensors, iii) digital health and telehealth, iv) medical data interoperability, v) IoT for healthcare.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar, a publication record and preferably with experience in research projects.
The selected researchers are expected to proactively collaborate in the definition and implementation of the research area strategy, promote and drive research activities leading to a strong publication effort, and lead research funding proposals.
PORTIC offers an excellent working environment, with multidisciplinary teams and career development possibilities. The researchers will work in a highly collaborative environment with other members of the center and industry collaborators, in an open and fertile environment.
Selected candidates will be employed with a contract of 3 to 6 years, starting tentatively in February 2021, with a gross monthly salary of roughly 3200 €, following the 14 times per year salary model in Portugal.

The evaluation of the scientific and curricular merits of the candidates focuses on the relevance, quality and current impact of:
- the scientific and technological production of the last five years considered more relevant by the candidate,
- the applied or practice-based research activities developed over the last five years and considered as having the greatest impact by the candidate,
- the activities of extension and dissemination of knowledge produced during the last five years, in particular in the context of the promotion of culture and scientific practices that are considered to be of greater relevance by the candidate,
- the activities of management of science, technology, and innovation programs, or of the experience in observing and monitoring the scientific and technological system and higher education, in Portugal or abroad.

- Curriculum of the candidate, detailed and duly structured, in order to enable an evaluation on the relevance, quality and actuality of the scientific and curricular merits and in accordance with the merits presented above
