MSc: 2 years ( 120 ECTS units ) Ensuring the sustainable management and exploitation of mineral, energetic and water resources, developing new uses for geomaterials, improving the safety and results of excavations and land containment and conducting risk analysis of engineering projects to address climate variability are among the main challenges that geotechnical engineers will face in coming years. With the MSc in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, ISEP specializes geo-professionals with advanced knowledge in rocks and soils geotechnical, geological resources, geotechnology and environment. The course targets the technological innovation of mining, energy and environmental projects and also supports new solutions for construction works. Focusing the development of technical and scientific skills for designing and coordinating geotechnical projects, the programme includes topics of applied geomechanics, underground excavations, geoenvironmental technologies, geotechnical exploration and maritime and river works. The course combines theoretical and practical components setting opportunities to conduct field work, analyse case studies, attend seminars with industry experts and develop lab and research activities. The final project can be developed with companies or research laboratories. Recently students presented studies concerning exploration and sustainable management of mineral, water and geothermal resources; excavation geotechnology; foundations and masses stabilization; evaluation of geomaterials; risk minimization in complex contexts related to environmental protection. Schedule Evening Schedule: Monday to Friday, 18:10-23:30, and Saturday, 9:10-13:00. Partnerships In recent years, students developed their final project in companies like Mota-Engil , Grupo Elevo , TAHR , Porto de Leixões , Incoveca Granitos , EPOS , Secil Britas and research groups such as LABCARGA , LGMC e Fundação Instituto Petrofísico de Madrid , among others.
