MSc: 2 years ( 120 ECTS units ) Robotic surgery, image-guided interventions, biosensors, biomedical implants and nanotechnologies, ultrasounds and image processing, computer modelling and in real-time clinical monitoring apps are just some ways in which technological innovation is helping advance daily medical tasks. With the MSc in Medical Computing and Instrumentation Engineering, ISEP trains engineers with specialized knowledge to develop and implement new health care solutions. The course combines software and electrical engineering with health sciences to improve diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. Students also develop research skills to address clinical biosensors, security, quality and information management. The study programme focuses on instrumentation, advanced programming, medical informatics, biological signal simulation and medical imaging. The course is taught in cooperation with the School of Health ? Polytechnic of Porto and is design with a strong practical component that benefits laboratory classes and project development. To ensure an increasing interaction with health organizations, students can attend seminars with health technology experts and participate in technical visits. Final projects can be developed in partner clinics, hospitals, companies and research groups. Schedule Evening Schedule: Monday to Friday, 18:10-23:30. (Some classes may be taught on Saturday mornings, 9:00-13:00) Partnerships In recent years, students developed their final project in organizations like Centro Hospitalar do Tâmega e Sousa , Hospital Pedro Hispano , Instituto CUF , Delegação Norte do Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal e Ciências Forenses , Efficientia , Inova+ , Evoleo Tecnologies and research groups such as GRAQ , Biomark and CINTESES , among others. Teaching partnership with Escola Superior de Tecnologias da Saúde do Politécnico do Porto .
